Eller Wagon Works

Built in 1909, this brick warehouse was the home of Eller Wagon Works. Frank Eller and his son, Homer, founded Eller Wagon Works with the intention of manufacturing of horse-drawn wagons, trucks, and oil tanks. The company was officially incorporated in 1910 and had 25 employees who manufactured around 600 wagons a year.
The Highlighted area is the empty lot Eller Wagon Works would later occupy in 1909.

The Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company purchased the building in 1920 and added another section to the original building. This newer addition is easily visible due to the color and architecture difference. Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co., or PPG Industries, occupied the warehouse until the 1950s.
In 2004, the warehouse was extensively renovated and is now home to art studios and various other creative industries.
