Barbara Jordan and Lyndon B. Johnson
After his presidency, Lyndon B. Johnson dedicated a sizable portion of his time to supporting and endorsing Barbara Jordan on her run for United States Congress. In 1972, after serving 6 years in the Texas Senate, Barbara was elected to the House of Representatives where she served until 1979.
