Stewart Abstract & Title Company

This photo is one of my favorites out of the McKay Commercial bunch. I love the facial expression of the woman in front and she is the only person in the room staring directly at the photographer.

Stewart Abstract and Title Company was founded in 1893 in Galveston, Texas. Today, they are known as Stewart Title and remain one of the largest title, insurance, and underwriting companies in the country.

The Stewart Building, which housed this business, was demolished in 1973 and has remained a parking lot ever since.
